This is the first book written by Cecy Robson that I've ever read and I really enjoyed it.The plot and the pace were great, the characters likable and the love between them was true, sweet and special.
The main characters are Mateo, an ex-army, ex-con and current bouncer at a club and Evelyn,whose father killed himself after he was found guilty of embezzlement, leaving her all alone.She has to take a job as a waitress at a nightclub where Mateo works as well in order to support herself in nursing school.
The characters begin building a relationship after Mateo helps her during a panic attack.Evelyn learns to trust Mateo and to let him in and they face great obstacles to stay together. I liked how attentive and tender Mateo was with Evelyn, despite his childhood filled with abuse.The relationship with his sisters also proves that he's protective and loyal to those he loves.
I can't wait to read Lety's book and I hope Sofia will get one as well.
