Excerpt
Lee didn’t answer, and instead he took a step forward, forcing me to back up if I didn’t want us to collide. The problem with this meant my back hit the wall a moment later. “You’re so pretty, Snap,” he said, voice low, as he dropped his face to my hair and breathed in. I wasn’t wearing a hat, and my hair was tied up in a bun. My entire body trembled when he wrapped his arms around my waist, inhaled deeply and pulled me into a hug. This was a distraction, I knew it, and yet, I let him distract me. I wanted to be distracted, and I was just glad that the blinds in his office had been pulled. Standing in his embrace for at least a minute with silence all around us, I was unable to move. I liked having Lee close, loved the feel of him and how he could make feel so…surrounded. Despite all the warning signs, my attraction to him only grew stronger. There was just something about him that called to me. “Lee.” His mouth moved against my hair. “What is it, Karla?” “Why are you hugging me?” “You looked like you needed to be held.” His response was low, and the affectionate undertone had me swallowing deeply. At long last I summoned the willpower to break the hug. His arms fell away from me easily, my stomach churning with confusion. What the hell was I doing? I stared at the floor when I spoke. “I have to go.” Heading for the door, I paused when he said gently, “Hey, I needed it, too.”

I never thought that someone could take King's place in my heart, but Lee Cross managed the impossible. I was really curious about this man ever since I read King of Hearts and L.H. Cosway didn't disappoint with this story. Her style is unique and all her books are beautifully written with well-thought-out characters. The plot was full of surprises and the pace was steady.
Hearts of Blue deals with the concept of how opposites attract in a very interesting way because even though Lee is portrayed as a criminal, he is trying to do justice in his own way, and Karla also struggles with what's right and what's wrong and with what she has to do so that innocent people can't get hurt.
I was really curious to see how a love story can develop between a cop and a thief, but from order and chaos something wonderful was born: a love so deep that could right every wrong.
I loved these two characters: Karla because she was a strong woman with a heart of gold and a vulnerable side, who always stood her ground, although she was at times annoyingly stubborn, and Lee because well...he's Lee, handsome, stubborn, charming and with many hidden talents Lee.

”We were the same. Too stubborn and brave to know what was good for us, out on a mission to save everyone but ourselves.”

They have a lot of obstacles to overcome and a lot of struggles given their situation, but in the end they come out stronger and prove that people can change: Karla has a bit of a reckless side that Lee brought out in her, and she made Lee want to change his ways and become worthy of her.
I recommend this book with all my heart because you don't want to miss this beautiful masterpiece.

”You’re kind of incredible,” Lee whispered, his breath on my ear as he bent his head to speak. “You should come back to mine. We’ll go to bed. I’ll even let you keep your clothes on. I’ll hold you tight, and we’ll fall asleep.”
